The Industry Safety Induction is for New Starts. Experienced Workers can complete an Experienced Worker Declaration Form as evidence that they are not required to complete the ISI prior to starting work. Since the ISI requirements ‘went live’ in WA/NT on 1 January 2020, the most frequently asked questions we have received relate to “What is an Experienced Worker?” and “How does an Experienced Worker get on site?” Read on to find out everything that you need to know about Experienced Workers and the ISI.

Obtaining Stakeholder Feedback to Enhance IVMS Requirements

Safer Together developed an In Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) Specification in 2014 to simplify and standardise IVMS requirements for the CSG industry. In the interest of continuous improvement, the Land Transport Working Group propose to update this Specification in line with changes in IVMS technology and a better understanding of industry driver behaviours. Consultation workshops have recently been conducted to obtain stakeholder input to the proposed revision.
Common Ground for Common Competencies – CIC Specification Scope Expands…and Arrives in WA/NT

Safer Together has issued Rev 4 of the Common Industry Competencies (CIC) Specification. This latest revision adds the following scope: Water Truck; Vehicle Loading Crane; Skid Steer; and Backhoe. Also, importantly, CIC requirements will now apply in WA/NT.

From 1 January 2020 all New Starts shall satisfactorily complete the Industry Safety Induction (ISI) prior to working on the development or operation of Onshore or Offshore Facilities in the WA/NT or Qld Oil and Gas Exploration & Production Industry.
