Working Groups

Working Groups

Working Groups are the “engine room” of Safer Together. They build our initiatives. Importantly, they also support Companies right across our Industry to implement these initiatives. Champions for each Working Group are drawn from the Safety Leaders Group.

They are comprised of subject matter experts and user representatives from member companies to undertake specific work streams focused on the key safety issues facing our industry.

Our Working Groups are listed below.

Safety Leadership The Safety Leadership Working Group exists to support leaders demonstrate effective and visible safety leadership and behaviours. The emphasis of the Group is on everyone, at all levels of an organisation, being a Visible Safety Leader.

Competence & Behaviour The Competence and Behaviour Working Group exists to define a standard of safe working behaviour expected of all people in the industry and a common standard of competence to enable duties to be performed safely.

Land Transport/Logistics The Land Transport and Land Logistics Working Groups exist to minimise the industry’s Total Recordable Incident Frequency Rate (TRIFR) attributable to road use and to promote safe operations in the Logistics sector of the Oil and Gas Industry.

Process Safety The Process Safety Working Group exists to improve industry management of Major Accident Hazards.

Rig Site Safety The Rig Site Safety Working Group exists to improve the industry’s drilling and completions safety performance.

Aviation The Aviation Working Group exists to further safety and efficiency in aviation activities through collaboration between users and operators of aviation services.

Marine The Marine Working Group exists to encourage marine safety without borders amongst all parties that carry out marine activities in the offshore oil and gas industry.

Health The Health Working Group exists to develop and implement initiatives that promote Health and Wellbeing across the industry.

Cranes & Lifting The Cranes and Lifting Working Group exists to share best practices and issues related to incidents involving offshore cranes, hoisting, and lifting, and to improve the consistency of safety related activities that can be standardised. Offshore Crane Inspection and Maintenance Competence Guideline The purpose of the Guideline is to provide guidance to operators and service companies with regards to the minimum competence required for offshore crane inspectors and maintenance technicians.
