Quarterly Themes

Safer Together is committed to making our sector the safest place to work by preventing predictable incidents and working with our colleagues in the industry to achieve that.  For 2023 & 2024 we have joined forces with Step Change in Safety (UK) and Always Safe (Norway) by introducing quarterly safety themes that focus on a different topic every three months.

During each quarter we collate a range of resources and tools to assist our members engage and educate their workforce. Each quarterly campaign is actively promoted across our social media channels.

Q1 - Preventing Major Accidents
A good understanding of Major Accident Hazards (MAHs) is key to maintaining safe operations. A Major Accident Hazard MAH is a source of danger that has the potential to cause a major incident, whether that involves multiple fatalities and/or significant damage to plant, equipment, or the environment.

Understanding hazards at site, the harm they can cause us, and how we can control them to prevent injuries to ourselves and colleagues.

Thorough planning and specific hazard identification for lifting operations, working at height and preventing potential dropped objects will allow hazards to be safely managed.

Q4 - Wellbeing & Work Environment
Managing our physical and mental wellbeing, and the hazards associated with our work environment, is essential to keeping us safe in the short and longer terms.
