Safer Together in the Territory: NT Resources Week and Upcoming Events Articles • September 2019 Safer Together participated in NT Resources Week by participating in the Energy Club NT “Meet the Buyer Event” and exhibiting at the SEAAOC Conference. The Safety Leaders Group will meet in Darwin on 17 October. This will coincide with members of the SLG participating in the Chamber of Commerce NT Manufacturers Council AGM and networking event on the evening of October 16.

Fitness to Work Medical Assessment Guideline Consultation Workshops Articles • September 2019 Safer Together Qld formed a Fitness to Work (FTW) Project Team in May 2018 with the objective of developing a Medical Assessment Guideline for the Qld natural gas industry. This need arose from a number of significant, non-work related medical events experienced in the industry and the desire to improve the medical assessment process as a preventative measure to identify and suitably manage individuals with elevated risk factors. An additional benefit of a standardised medical assessment process is avoiding the need for individuals to undergo a number of pre-employment medical assessments as they move around the industry.

The Industry Safety Induction Has Arrived in WA/NT Articles • September 2019 On 1 October 2019, ERGT and IFAP will commence delivering Industry Safety Induction (ISI) training in WA/NT. From 1 January 2020 all new starts will be required to satisfactorily complete the ISI prior to working on the development of operation of Onshore or Offshore Facilities in the WA/NT Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Industry.
