Safer Together Qld formed a Fitness to Work (FTW) Project Team in May 2018 with the objective of developing a FTW Medical Assessment Guideline for the Qld natural gas industry.
This need arose from a number of significant, non-work related medical events experienced in the industry and the desire to improve the medical assessment process as a preventative measure to identify and suitably manage individuals with elevated risk factors. An additional benefit of a standardised medical assessment process is avoiding the need for individuals to undergo a number of pre-employment medical assessments as they move around the industry.
The FTW Project Team has developed the FTW Medical Assessment Guideline to a sufficient stage to commence an extensive industry consultation process prior to finalisation.
Those who have a role in the fitness to work process for individuals employed in the QLD natural gas industry should attend one of the consultation workshops that are to be held over the coming months in Brisbane and regional CSG centres.
Please register your expression of interest to attend a Consultation Workshop by emailing [email protected] including “FTW Consultation Workshop” in the subject line.
