On 14th September Safer Together held their third virtual Drilling and Completions Industry Incident Review Panel of 2021. Sponsored by Shell QGC and Qteq, the theme for the event was “Perceived or Actual Pressure at Site” which is a significant focus area arising from the Incident Deep Dive Analysis project the Rig Site Safety Working Group carried out in 2020.

The Industry Safety Forum held in Perth on the afternoon of 31st August 2021 was a rare opportunity for 80 Industry Leaders, not only to meet together face-to-face again, but to be joined for the first time ever by more than 50 Health, Safety & Environment Representatives (HSERs) from the frontline workforce. In total, 36 member companies, APPEA, NOPSEMA and Energy Club WA were represented at the event, which was dedicated to the theme Engaged & Connected.

This October, during National Safe Work Month, Safer Together members in Queensland are encouraged to “Stand Together for Safety” in response to a call by the Qld Resources Minister, Scott Stewart MP, for companies across the entire Qld resources sector to engage their workforce in a Safety Re-Set campaign. Safer Together has prepared a toolbox talk pack to help member companies to respond to the Minister’s call.
