National Road Safety Week, an annual initiative from the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Group, partners road safety advocates, organisations and Government. The week highlights the impact of road trauma and ways to reduce it.

Driving remains one of the Australian energy industry's highest-risk activities, and this year, National Road Safety Week (5-12 May) encouraged all road users to remember those who have lost their lives on our roads, to reflect on how we can make our roads safer, and act to make a difference.

Every year, approximately 1200 people are killed and another 44,000* are seriously injured on Australian roads. Traffic injury is the biggest killer of Australian children under 15 and the second-biggest killer of all Australians aged between 15 and 24. These numbers are growing every year but are preventable if we choose to Drive So Others Survive!

Members can follow the link to utilise our resources (including videos and a toolbox) to enable a focus on road safety in your workplace.

We encourage all our members to make the pledge to drive without distraction, not to speed, nor to drive while under the influence.

We are Stronger and Safer Together.
