Joint DCIIRP/DrillSafe/DrillWell Event Conducted in Brisbane Articles • June 2018 On 6 June 2018, Safer Together and DrillSafe ran a joint DCIIRP/DrillSafe/DrillWell Forum in Brisbane. More than 80 representatives of companies from the drilling and completions community in Queensland gathered with their colleagues from all around Australia to hear presentations from Operators and Contractors about recent incidents and to share lessons learnt. In addition, several presentations focused on innovations to improve safety in the industry.

Safer Together WA/NT: Working Groups ‘Fire Up’! Articles • June 2018 On 18 May 2018 Safer Together WA/NT activities commenced in earnest. This day marked the inaugural meeting of the Competence and Behaviour Working Group (CBWG) and heralded the beginning of efforts to simplify, standardise and share in WA/NT. The Marine Working Group followed soon after.
Arrow Takes Safety Culture Survey Results to APPEA Conference Articles • June 2018 Arrow Energy wrote an APPEA Peer Review Paper which was based on Arrow Energy’s experience of completing the Safer Together Safety Culture Survey. The paper provides a case study of applying a different approach to executing a safety culture survey. The paper describes Arrow’s approach to the Safety Culture Survey.
Safer Together WA/NT: Reaching out in Perth and Darwin Articles • May 2018 Safer Together WA/NT is a member-based organisation. As such, members of the Safety Leaders Group (SLG) have reached out to stakeholders in Perth and Darwin during recent events hosted by the Petroleum Club of WA (April 17) and Energy Club NT (May 9).

Common Industry Competencies Expanded Articles • May 2018 Safer Together has identified huge value in streamlining some of the competencies that are shared across our industry, and has recently expanded the scope of the Common Industry Competencies (CIC) Specification.
ISI Changes: Price Reduced and New Pathway for Experienced Workers Articles • May 2018 From 1 May 2018 the cost of the Industry Safety Induction (ISI) is reduced by $100 per participant for members of Safer Together. People who have worked in the Queensland Natural Gas E&P Industry for more than 12 months in the last 2 years will now be able to complete an Experienced Worker Declaration Form as evidence that they are not required to undertake the ISI prior to starting work.

Establishment of QLD Fitness for Work Working Group - Call for Nominations Articles • May 2018 Fitness for Work is recognised as being an important topic for our industry and one where a significant opportunity exists for greater levels of standardisation. The Queensland Safety Leaders Group recently agreed that a Working Group should be formed to progress work on developing an industry framework for Fitness for Work medical assessments.
