By launching our new On-Site Accommodation Health and Safety Guideline our Health Working Group aims to safeguard and enhance residents’ safety by supporting the identification and management of psychosocial risks in accommodation, using a risk control framework describing the process to be followed.
Development of the Guideline was a combined Qld. and WA/NT Health Working Group initiative, led by Melissa Day and Lauren Baggoley (Santos), and involved member companies and external stakeholders throughout the development of the document.
The Guideline is applicable both onshore and offshore accommodation facilities.
We encourage all our members to use the Guideline - including operators or owners or residents of accommodation facilities, and organisations with employees or contractors who reside within an on-site facility, as a reference to:
- Ensure the psychological safety and health of all people residing in accommodation facilities.
- Determine standard of facility based on psychosocial safety risk.
- Prequalify facilities to accept employees as residents.
The above video provides an overview of the Guideline along with a brief explanation of how to use it.
