Fatigue is an acute and / or ongoing state that leads to physical, mental and emotional exhaustion. Fatigue can not only impair a worker from functioning safely it can also have long-term health effects.

Fatigue is caused by inadequate sleep, extended wake or circadian disruption (working at times when we would normally be sleeping). It is also influenced by factors such as task and environmental conditions.  It is a very real hazard that affects performance and is a prime causal factor in many incidents in our industry.

Our Fatigue Management Awareness e-Learn course is the latest release in our suite of tools that will provide workers with the foundational knowledge to understand what fatigue is, how to recognise and mitigate the risks of fatigue, and the responsibilities of both the worker and employer when it comes to fatigue risk management.
