Our Health Working Group welcomed member company representatives along with Medical Providers to our ‘Fitness to Work – Medical Assessment Guideline’ (FTW-MAG) Lunch & Learn in Perth.
The lunchtime session focused on providing end-user implementation support to member company representatives and Health Practitioners that carry out FTW Medical Assessments.
The event gathered end-users together to share experiences and discuss practical solutions to address some of the implementation challenges and issues being encountered.
Laura Brennan (Woodside) and Erin Gurnett (INPEX) presented the FTW-MAG Rev. 2.1 and its most recent updates, with emphasis on the importance of:
- The referral and ensuring that the medical assessment is aligned to the job role
- The Fit Slip as the key document the worker needs to get onto site needs to be fully completed, including Bideltoid measurement and particulars of restrictions and/or referrals, if any.
Clarification was provided on the clinical content identified of interest from the feedback received with regards to the measurement of lipids for use in the Cardiovascular Risk score and the StopBang questionnaire for Sleep Apnoea.
The presenters were joined by Jessica Press (Chevron) on a panel for a Q&A session facilitated by Alastair Reid (Monadelphous). This was an opportunity to hear from end-users to address and respond to some of the implementation issues being encountered.
With 50 delegates attending the Lunch & Learn virtually and more than 25 attending in-person, including both member company representatives and Health Providers, the event provided multiple stakeholders with the opportunity to clarify requirements for the provision of FTW Fit Slips.
