The momentum for Assist and Assure continues to build with our final Supervisors Safety Leadership Training course for 2023 conducted in Brisbane on 9th November, attracting an impressive 27 delegates representing 14 member companies in the room.

This highly engaging workshop was again facilitated by Blair Hart (HSB Resources), focussing on the role of the front-line safety leaders and supervisors, providing examples of how to run engaging transition to work meetings, have effective ‘Step 7’ conversations and provide key Safety Leadership skills:

  • Influence behaviours, give praise, be curious,
  • Human and organisational performance, learner mindset, psychological safety,
  • Facilitation and coaching skills,
  • Effective interventions,
  • Tips and tools for how to self-assure.

In 2023, 57 member companies sent delegates to Assist and Assure training.

As we work towards Assist and Assure becoming a common industry wide means of engaging all those involved in operations to ensure that risks are understood and effective mitigations implemented prior to and for the work duration, it is impressive to see so many operator and contractor companies supporting this program.

To support the deployment of Assist and Assure, identified as a priority program in our new Strategic Safety Plan, we are delighted to announce dates in Perth, WA for Assist and Assure Supervisors Safety Leadership Training in the first quarter of 2024:
