On 2 July, over 80 people attended the second Safer Together WA/NT Process Safety Incident Review Workshop (PSIR) which was held at the Hyatt Hotel in Perth.
The attendees were welcomed by Ryan Couzens the Chevron Process Safety Manager and member of the Process Safety Working Group (PSWG). With a theme of “Control of Work”, incidents and learning were shared by Woodside, Wood, INPEX, APA and ConocoPhillips and a process safety innovation was shared by Shell. Facilitated table discussions were used to maximise the learning opportunity for attendees. The PSIR was formally closed by PSWG Operating Company Co-Champion, David Boyle, Vice President Operations, Drilling & Supply Chain - ABU West, ConocoPhillips Australia. Attendees then enjoyed a networking lunch.

Following the PSIR, a smaller group (20 attendees) returned to participate in a Control of Work (CoW) Summit organised jointly by the Process Safety and Competence and Behaviour Working Groups and facilitated by Jamie Huthwaite, Remote Operations Manager, Production Support from Woodside. The CoW Summit participants used the output from the PSIR facilitated table discussions to identify and explore opportunities to improve control of work across the industry. The outcome of the Summit was that participants believed that CoW improvement opportunities existed and Safety Leaders Group support would be sought to work these opportunities further.
