The IOGP Life-Saving Rules (LSRs) have been developed to give frontline workers a clear, simple set of actions to protect themselves and their colleagues from the activities most likely to result in a fatality. The LSRs are informed by data — drawn from analysis of more than a decade of fatal incidents across our global industry — and are designed to focus attention on the things an individual can control, supported by memorable icons and plain "I" statements that are recognisable industry-wide.
IOGP have made a significant contribution to collaboration across the oil and gas industry. Safer Together is delighted to work with IOGP to promote a common safety language and the prevention of fatalities in our industry.
Through our members, Safer Together applies the LSRs to keep frontline workers focused on the critical actions that prevent fatal incidents. We have incorporated the LSRs into our Industry Safety Induction (ISI)and Learning Event Bulletins so that lessons are shared consistently across our members.
