A Marine Safety Alert related to Electrical Fire.
What Happened?
During recent operations a power board experienced an electrical short circuit within the integrated USB ports.
This resulted in a smoke odor being noticed and a yellow glow observed internally at the connection from the extension lead to the power board.
The power was isolated and the glow disappeared. No personnel were injured nor were any fire extinguishers required.
