Land Transport Review Panel
Sharing of learning from incidents and innovations in the area of land transport related activities in Queensland Natural Gas Exploration and Production Industry.
Project / Initiative
Land Transport Review Panel – communicate and share land transport incidents, learnings and key messages within the Queensland Natural Gas Exploration and Production Industry.
Queensland Natural Gas Exploration and Production Industry faces unique land transport safety challenges, road use is the most visible aspect of the industry to the public. Currently the Queensland Natural Gas E&P Industry operators and contractors in Queensland drive an estimated total of 100 million kilometres a year. Based on current road safety statistics this volume of travel could result in a significant number of serious vehicle related incidents per year in the long term.
The lack of a forum to present the outcomes of incident investigations and a common format for these presentations limits the sharing of knowledge and lessons learnt across the industry. Learing from incidents and near misses, as well as sharing innovations will help to achieve higher standards in how we manage land transportation risk.
Launch a forum to enable knowledge and learning from land transport incidents to be shared between all operators and contractors, and to provide opportunity to demonstrate best practice and safety innovations in land transport.
The Working Group launched the first Land Transport Review Panel (LTRP) in September 2017 in a format similar to the Incident Review Panels held quarterly by the Drilling & Completions sector of our industry, which have proven to be very popular. Safer Together members can access past LTRP presentations here.
