The QLD Health Working Group (HWG) have revised and released an updated Management of Heat Stress Guideline to assist our members. The Guideline defines the triggers and associated controls to mitigate the effects of heat stress on our workforce.

First launched in 2018, the Guideline has provided Member Companies industry-wide with effective risk control measures to implement in their workplace, whilst standardising a consistent approach across industry to preventing heat stress.

Each year, when the temperature rises there continues to be multiple incidents related to heat stress and illness – the Qld HWG want to anticipate this summer season by ensuring that our members are equipped with a methodology and updated information to help prevent heat related incidents.

In 2022, our Health Working Group (HWG) has revised and updated the Guideline to ensure alignment with current health recommendations.

One of the key components of the revised guideline covers the application of risk controls at the worksite using a triggered approach as apparent temperatures increase:

The Guideline, along with implementation support materials and FAQs are available free to assist members to roll out the guideline in their workplace. An e-Learn module is also available all Members.
