Our Marine Working Group – with their first event for 2026 – delivered a deep-dive into everything from fatigue and DP operations, along with some fantastic innovation sharing and incident learnings as our Marine Forums continue to go from strength-to-strength.
Alastair Martin (Svitzer) opened the event and welcomed delegates, before handing over to Hireshpal Singh (Tidewater) who presented a fantastic Safety Moment ‘Giver/Receiver’, in which he shared a way to approach someone when you witness a stop work scenario.
An incident followed, presented by Hireshpal Singh (Tidewater) & Frank Pronk (Tidewater) with a Scaffold Collapse.
Alastair Martin (Svitzer) then shared an innovation ‘Svitzer Transverse Tug – The Next Generation Multipurpose Tug’ presentation.
Following Alastair was Dr. Sherrilyn Mills with a Keynote: Fatigue – The Cognitive Demand on the DP Operator.
A technical masterclass presentation from Sandeep Bangar (Tidewater) followed, with 'Human Factors in DP Operational Learning from DP Events'.
Hireshpal Singh (Tidewater) & Frank Pronk (Tidewater) presented 'Tidewater Emergency Management – Rig Evacuation and Deepwater Horizon Learnings'.
Hireshapal returned with the event’s closing reflections before delegates retired to a networking session.
