Our Process Safety Working Group held a Contain It Lunch & Learn in September – designed to introduce members to the Contain It Major Accident Hazard Awareness Training program and demonstrate its value in strengthening process safety awareness across the energy production industry.
Contain It is an interactive and practical half-day training course for energy and resources personnel in WA/NT to experience the effects of hydrocarbon releases in a safe and controlled environment firsthand. The aim of the course is to increase awareness of the process safety hazards within Major Hazardous Facilities. It provides an overview of major accidents, the mechanisms and impacts of process safety releases, and an understanding of an individual’s role in preventing major accidents.
The Lunch & Learn was designed encourage members to utilise the program as a practical tool for improving safety culture, reducing the risk of loss-of-containment incidents, and supporting proactive hazard management within their organisations.
Through an overview of the program’s practical, interactive approach, attendees gained an understanding of how Contain It helps workers recognise major hazard risks and how it improves situational awareness.
We would like to thank the following Process Safety Working Group members for presenting:
- Shivaan Rickhi (Wood)
- Eloise Browne-Cooper (Woodside Energy)
- John Ryan (ERGT)
Thank you also to event sponsor, Woodside Energy.
