With more than 1,200 people from around the globe convening to learn from each other, share knowledge, and connect through shared experience, the American Occupational Health Conference (AOHC) is the largest meeting of occupational and environmental health professionals in the world, and Safer Togethers’ Fitness to Work: Medical Assessment Guideline was there!
In April, Dr. Max Hills (Chief Medical Officer, Chevron) flew the Safer Together flag at the conference – generating significant interest with his Published Session ‘Safer Together: Towards a Common Medical Standard for remote and offshore energy industry workplaces in Australia’.
In the session, Max informed interested delegates that the Fitness to Work Medical Assessment Guideline was developed through a collaborative process, providing a consistent approach for the assessment of work fitness for remote and offshore locations in Australia – and has been accepted by most major oil and gas operators in Australia.
And further, the Guideline provides an efficient, standardised pathway to periodically assess work fitness and enhances worker, co-worker and community safety and health awareness, that may have application for other industries working in remote locations globally.
If you or your company is interested in adopting the Fitness to Work Medical Assessment Guideline, you can find all the information and supporting resources that you need to implement the Guideline on our website.
Fitness to Work will be one of the topics addressed at the upcoming Safer Together ‘Health Vitals’ Workshop in Brisbane, 14th June 2023 – please contact us if you are interested in attending, or if you have any questions about the Medical Assessment Guideline: [email protected].
