Safer Together has finalised a suite of Process Safety Metrics and is now receiving Quarterly reports.  These reports are used to support Process Safety improvement in the Qld CSG-LNG Industry.

Personal safety metrics such as TRCFR and LTIFR have been collated and published since the Industry began.  The definition and measurement of these metrics has been standardised and accepted for many years.  However, although individual operators were monitoring their process safety performance, the CSG industry did not have a combined measure.  This lack of cross-Industry information about leading and lagging Process Safety indicators limited the capability to identify, analyse, learn from and act upon trends in Process Safety performance.

The Process Safety Working Group has been working closely with the CSG operating companies for more than 2 years to develop, prepare and publish a suite of Process Safety Metrics for the Qld CSG-LNG industry.

The first achievement was to define a standardised suite and set of three definitions for Tier 1/Tier 2 Loss of Containment Incidents (LOCIs).  A suite of seven Tier 3/Tier 4 Process Safety Metrics has now been agreed.  From Q2 2020, reports outlining performance against these Tier3/Tier 4 metrics (in addition to the Tier 1/Tier 2 LOCIs) will be prepared for the SLG every Quarter.
