Moving Forward, Together at AOG 2020 Articles • March 2020 Safer Together attended and exhibited at the 2020 Australian Oil and Gas Conference (AOG) earlier this month. The annual AOG Exhibition & Conference is the largest oil & gas event in Australia, featuring over 300 exhibiting brands and over 8,700 global visitors. The theme this year was “Forward Together” and reflected on the growth of the oil and gas industry and the need for connections, collaboration and innovation.

Step Change in Safety Videos: COVID-19 Impact on Safety Articles • March 2020 Step Change in Safety has produced a suite of short videos to reinforce the need for diligence in the pre-planning and execution of work activities offshore to minimise the impact of COVID-19 on the safety of offshore workers.

NOPSEMA is Taking Action and Providing Assistance on COVID-19 Articles • March 2020 NOPSEMA has endorsed a new compliance strategy for effectively regulating the offshore industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have also provided interim guidance to encourage consistent practice across industry.

What Did the Chain of Responsibility Survey Tell Us? Articles • March 2020 96 member companies and non-member stakeholders responded to our recent Chain of Responsibility (CoR) survey. We learnt about areas of our Industry with a high level of awareness about CoR requirements. We learnt about areas where the awareness is not so high. We also learnt about the main influencer of behaviour when it comes to CoR requirements.

Safer Together LUEZ & Spotting Guideline is Published Articles • March 2020 The Land Logistics Working Group has published the new LUEZ & Spotting Guideline and supporting materials. The guidance has been 'road tested' and found to be useful by both operators and contractors alike.

Assist and Assure is Now Available Articles • March 2020 The Qld Rig Site Safety Working Group are delighted to announce the launch of their flagship project, Assist and Assure. It is now available to all member companies.

DCIIRP #19 “Visible Leadership – People Care How Much You Know, Once They Know How Much You Care” Articles • March 2020 The Safer Together Rig Site Safety Working Group recently held its 19th Drilling and Completions Industry Incident Review Panel (DCIIRP) hosted by Santos and Ensign. More than 80 people attended the event to hear about safety incidents and innovations, and to share lessons learnt. The organiser, co-host and MC for the event was Glenn Watt, General Manager Onshore Drilling and Completions, Santos & RSSWG Chair.

Reflections on Texas City Articles • March 2020 Monday 23 March 2020 marked the 15th anniversary of the BP Texas City Refinery incident in the USA. At 1.20pm on 23 March 2005, catastrophic explosions and fires destroyed a large area of the refinery claiming the lives of 15 people and injuring 180 others. This incident was one of the worst industrial disasters in our industry in recent history.
