APPEA held its annual conference in Brisbane on the 28, 29 and 30th of May.  It’s the largest annual upstream oil and gas event in the southern hemisphere and attracts delegates from across the country and around the world.  Safer Together was centre stage.

Safer Together had a stand at the conference exhibition to interact with existing members and talk with potential new members about the benefits of being part of the industry collaboration on safety.

The CEO Safety Forum conducted during the conference looked back 10 years to the Montara incident and reflected on the changes since that time.  Australia has now emerged as the world’s largest LNG producer.  We have become a leader in our Industry.

It is important that our Industry maintains leadership as a safe, reliable supplier of oil, gas and natural gas.  To do so, we must collaborate.  This places Safer Together centre stage in our Industry’s future.

John Smith (MPC Kinetic & Safer Together Co-Chair for QLD) and Mike Grieve (Shell & Safer Together Board Member for WA/NT) participated on a panel session in the CEO Safety Forum.  The Panel discussed the current and future role of Safer Together, reinforcing our partnership with APPEA to support our Industry’s efforts in safety.  A video update about Safer Together’s current Projects was shown.
