Embedding a positive safety culture in any organisation is no easy task, but a committed group of member companies are embracing the challenge.

Following the enthusiastic reaction by attendees to the Safety Culture Toolkit Implementation Workshop held in May 2016, a follow-up Workshop was held recently in Brisbane. Representatives from a number of member companies gathered together to provide an update on how their respective companies have progressed in adopting and implementing the 3 Safety Culture Toolkit Guides that were introduced at the initial Workshop in May, and to share their experiences.

Case Studies from three member companies - Pro-Test Well Services, Shamrock Civil and Spiecapag Australia - were presented, providing valuable insights to all who were there. A common theme was the critical importance of senior leadership engagement and buy-in prior to embarking on an organisational change program. The Workshop materials are available to all Safer Together member companies – click here.

More Workshops will be held in 2017, which all member companies are strongly encouraged to attend. Supporting E-learning modules will also be developed.
