In early December we held a Member Engagement Evening at The Club Hotel in Chinchilla.

We appreciate it can be difficult at times for our member companies in regional Queensland to make themselves available to attend Safer Together events hosted in Brisbane. This is especially the case for small and medium-sized enterprises that don’t have a facility or office in the capital city.

Engagement with all our members – big, medium, and small - is important to us. So, we headed out to Chinchilla to have a chat with member company representatives in the local region about their current safety challenges, what they think of the Safer Together initiatives they have adopted and implemented to date (which of these are working well, and which need improvement), and to find out if there’s anything else Safer Together can do to better support them.

We were delighted to have a drink, some pub tucker, and an informal chat with representatives from locally based member companies Kitja Services, MFE, Poly Pipe Solutions and Speciality Services. We thank each of them for taking the time to join us.

We’d also like to express our gratitude to:

  • Jamie Gabb, representing Monadelphous, for his support in leading the conversation.
  • Dave Pearce (Road Safety Lead, Shell QGC) for coming along to represent the Land Transport Working Group and discuss issues raised about implementation of Land Transport-related initiatives.

We’ll be holding more of these events in Queensland in 2024:
