In September we held a Member Engagement Evening with senior field leaders from the Safer Together community and from other supply chain companies in the Northern Territory.
Run as a pilot, the event was modelled on the program of Member Engagement Evenings that have been held over the past 12 months in regional Queensland. The intent was to have a peer-to-peer conversation aimed at listening to our members, to ascertain if, and how Safer Together can better support them.
17 people from 14 companies gathered at the Darwin hub of GR Production Services to have a chat, enjoy a drink and some tucker, and openly share their current safety challenges. It provided an opportunity for member companies in the local region to mingle with their peers, and to listen and learn from each other’s experiences.
The conversation was facilitated by Josh Harrison (General Manager Operations & Maintenance West, GR Production Services), who opened the evening by providing a quick overview of Safer Together’s Commitment and Guiding Principles, his personal involvement with Safer Together over the past six years, and the benefits that simplifying, standardising and sharing brings to his company and the broader industry.
Our thanks to Josh and the team at GR Production Services for their sponsorship of the evening, the committed volunteers from APA Group, INPEX and Santos that helped to organise the event, and to all those representatives that attended from the following companies:
- APA Group
- CareFlight
- Elemera
- Eni
- GR Production Services
- INPEX
- Kaefer
- MPC Kinetic
- PCM Group
- Qube
- RAM Services
- Santos
- Winnellie Hydraulics
- WPF Duratec
The event was well received by those that attended, so we’re now in the process of planning more informal Safer Together get-together evenings in Darwin at the back end of this year and throughout 2025.
