Q.  In your professional opinion, what Safer Together Product, Program or Initiative deserves more attention from industry, and why?

I would give more importance and attention to On-site Accommodation Psychological Health and Safety Guideline and any associated psychological safety initiatives within Safer Together. These Guidelines hold significant relevance due to their currency and the heightened government focus they've garnered.

Prioritising these guidelines will play a crucial role in ensuring the psychological safety of individuals working away from their families in our industry. Moreover, the versatility of these Guidelines makes them applicable beyond the CSG industry, offering a broader impact across various sectors.

Q.  What would you say to someone who was considering entering our industry?

Well, I would encourage anyone considering entering our industry to seriously consider it, especially women.

From my experience leading the work on the development of the On-site Accommodation Psychological Health and Safety Guideline, I've witnessed significant strides in ensuring the well-being and safety of individuals, particularly regarding accommodation and workplace environments.

It's truly inspiring to see the progress being made, and it's only getting better.

Q.  What would be your elevator pitch to someone thinking about joining a Safer Together Working Group?

Joining a Safer Together Working Group presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate with industry peers and create synergies aimed at enhancing safety for all.

The members of these Groups are passionate and dedicated individuals who willingly take on this additional responsibility alongside their daily roles.

By becoming part of a Working Group, you'll not only contribute to the collective effort of keeping everyone safe but also benefit from valuable networking and professional development opportunities within the industry.

Q.  Do you have anything else you would like to add?

I would like to emphasise the importance of fostering collaboration and synergy within our industry, especially when it comes to safety initiatives like those undertaken by Safer Together.

It's crucial for us to recognise the dedication and passion of individuals who contribute to these efforts, whether through Working Groups or other means. By continuing to prioritise safety and working together, we can achieve even greater advancements and ensure the well-being of everyone involved in our industry.
