November marks a very special time in the evolution of Safer Together.  It marks 10 years since our first-ever conference in Brisbane on 27th November 2013, and how time has flown.

We stand on the shoulders of giants. Safer Together owes a debt of gratitude to the individuals and Companies that had the foresight to take a leap of faith - and to establish the Guiding Principles that continue to be central to who we are and what we do.

10 years is an impressive feat in anyone’s book.  Back in 2013, the senior line leaders (at that time) from Operating Companies who each presented on the day and pitched the need for collaboration to the audience, were Trevor Brown (Santos), Andrew Faulkner (Arrow Energy), David Baldwin (Origin Energy), Page Maxon (Australia Pacific LNG) and Mitchell Ingram (QGC).

Impressively, a long list of contractor companies also had their senior line leader in the room on the day.  Many of these companies are still members today.

Sean O’Donnell (Principal Consultant, Safer Together) was MC and facilitator on the day and is still working tirelessly today to improve safety outcomes for everyone in our industry.

Ciarán Hallinan (CEO, CST Hire) is also an ‘original’ founding member, and still a very active member of Safer Together today.

Watch this space into 2024, as we take time to commemorate and celebrate everything that Safer Together has done to improve safety for everyone in our industry.

We are Stronger and Safer Together.
