Australia has been highly successful so far in ‘flattening the curve’ and people across our industry have been playing their part in helping to achieve this outcome. But as federal, state and territory governments start to gradually ease some of the restrictions around public gatherings, how businesses can operate, and regional travel, it’s absolutely vital that we don’t allow ourselves to become complacent about the threat of COVID-19. Now, more than ever, we must stay committed to maintaining the behaviours required to continue flattening the curve.
Since the pandemic began to cause disruption to our industry we have sought to provide useful resources and information to member and non-member companies across Australia. Our COVID-19 Microsite and Sharing Library, supported by the videos and toolbox resources from the ‘Play Your Part’ campaign, has received unprecedented user traffic during the crisis, with 51,000 page views on the Safer Together website in the last 8 weeks.
As can be seen in this short video, people from across our industry truly are committed to ‘Playing Their Part’, particularly in the five key areas that are required to prevent the spread of the coronavirus:
- Keep Your Distance
- Wash Your Hands
- Cover Your Cough
- Clean Surfaces often
- Stay Away If Unwell
The video provides a useful audio-visual aid for toolbox talks and other communication and consultation mechanisms. It complements the suite of ’Play Your Part’ communications campaign resources designed to help companies in the Australian Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Industry implement a workforce information and education program about COVID-19.
These resources are contained in our COVID-19 Library which is mapped to the APPEA COVID-19 Industry Protocol Framework – Onshore and Offshore.
