Safe Work Australia has developed the hub as a centralised repository of WHS guidance and tools that Australian workplaces can use to form the basis of their management of health and safety risks posed by COVID-19.  The pandemic brings a set of unique challenges and the Safe Work Hub provides guidance for employers to exercise their duty of care for the health and safety of their employees and others in the workplace.

Specific considerations included under the FIFO/DIDO area of the site are comprehensive and include:

  • Duties under WHS laws
  • Consultation
  • Emergency Plans
  • Health monitoring
  • Physical Distancing
  • Hygiene
  • Cleaning
  • PPE
  • Mental Health

For ease of reference, Safer Together’s COVID-19 microsite has included direct links to the hub which are mapped to the specific elements of the APPEA COVID-19 Industry Protocol Framework – Offshore and Onshore.

The Hub was released by Safe Work Australia on Tuesday 28th April – World Day For Safety And Health At Work And Workers’ Memorial Day.
